This report, and the Apalachee Regional Resource Assessment and Greenways Vision produced in February 1995, are the products of a two-yen study completed by:

1000 Friends of Florida

1000 Friends of Florida is a statewide growth management advocacy group founded in 1986 by Nathaniel Reed and other concerned Floridians. The group's mandate is to monitor implementation of the State's landmark growth management legislation, which requires every local government to prepare a comprehensive plan detailing how and where growth will occur. 1000 Friends is the administrative home of the Florida Greenways Program, a joint project with The Conservation Fund, which is exploring ways to create a statewide system of greenways. Contact 1000 Friends of Florida at Post Office Box 5948, Tallahassee, FL 32314-5948 or phone (850) 222-6277.

Tall Timbers Research, Inc.

Tall Timbers Research, Inc. is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization founded in 1949. Tall Timbers is a recognized leader in land management, conservation activities, ecological research, and particularly fire ecology in the north Florida/south Georgia region. Apalachee Land Conservancy

Apalachee Land Conservancy is a locally based nonprofit land conservancy created to own, manage and protect land in the Apalachee region of northern Florida. The Apalachee Land Conservancy acquires conservation lands through purchase, donation or easement, manages those lands, educates the community about the importance of land conservation, cooperates with local governments to identify, acquire and manage environmentally sensitive and open space lands, and works with landowners, developers and conservation groups to encourage land use that is compatible with the environment. Contact the Apalachee Land Conservancy at 926 E. Park Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32301 or phone (850) 222-5350.
