Jackson County Visioning Project: The goal of Imagine Jackson is to encourage a representative cross section of Jackson County citizens to describe a vision of the county that they want for the future. The plan to accomplish this goal by informing citizens about Imagine Jackson, stimulate them to be active in the process, and capture their outlook. Jackson County is one of the six counties along the Apalachicola River. The work they develop under this visioning process will hopefully help to recognize and protect the valuable biodiversity and natural resource base they share with others in this river basin. The Chipola River, Mariana Caverns, Merritts Mill Pond and its contributing Blue Springs springshed are all a part of the greater Apalachicola River basin resources that are feeling the impacts of development and agricultural/silvicultural actions.
